French Onion Soup Ingredients: 2-3 large sweet onions 2 sticks of margarine or butter 2 to 3 tablespoons of flour 3 cans beef broth 2 cans chicken broth 1/2 cup Imboden wine
Sauté the onions until a rich dark brown on medium to high temperature. (Be careful not to burn.) Sprinkle the sautéed onions with the flour and stir. Stir in both broths until soup comes to a boil and begins to thicken. Reduce heat to simmer and add Imboden wine. (Do not boil the wine.) Serve with crusty chunks of French bread with melted Swiss or Mozzarella cheese. Enjoy with a glass of MountainRose Vineyards' Imboden wine. |
Lemon-Pepper Fish (or Chicken) Ingredients: 2 pounds of any mild white fish like Tilapia (or chicken) 1/2 cup Banner White wine Lemon Pepper and Dill Weed (to taste)
Combine ½ cup Banner White with Lemon Pepper and Dill weed to taste. Marinate the fish from 30 minutes to two hours in sealed plastic bag or container. Melt good margarine or butter in skillet until hot and add fish. Cook until fish looks opaque and turn. Cook second side until fish flakes easily with fork. (Note: Tilapia takes only two or three minutes per side. Chicken will take longer.) Serve immediately and enjoy with your Banner White wine.

Super Fruity Light SangriaIngredients: 1 Bottle Sweet MountainRose or Pardee Red1 Lemon cut into wedges1 Lime cut into wedges 1 Orange cut into wedges1 Peach cut into wedges 1 Cup sliced strawberries ½ Cup lemonade or limeade 2 cups ginger ale or lemon/lime drink ½ cup sugar Optional: one can diced pineapple pieces with juice Directions: Pour wine into pitcher and squeeze juice from wedges of the lemon, lime and orange into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges leaving out seeds if possible. Add sliced peaches, strawberries, lemonade or limeade and sugar. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale and ice just before serving.

Hints: Add 1/4 cup of the Dorchester Red Wine to the sauce along with meat or meatballs when warming up the sauce. Open your wine before serving and serve at 65 degrees F. Warm frozen or fresh Italian bread with butter and garlic powder in the oven so that it is crusty and warm. Add 1 diced apple, a handful of raisins, and a few nuts to your salad mix before serving. |
